    Foundation 191 is seeking community members interested in serving as Foundation Board Members. This volunteer role offers an opportunity to support students and educators, help guide fundraising efforts, and strengthen programs that benefit our schools.

    Board Member Application

     

    Volunteer Profile: Foundation [Co]Chair

    Position Title: Foundation [Co]Chair
    Reports to: Foundation Chair / Board
    Time Commitment: 4–6 hours/month (may vary during scholarship and grant season)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaboratively develop and distribute meeting agendas.
    • Co-lead board and committee meetings, ensuring effective communication and follow-through.
    • Support strategic planning and board initiatives.
    • Serve as a liaison to subcommittees (e.g., Scholarship Committee, Grants, Finance).
    • Represent the Foundation at key events or public functions.

    Volunteer Profile: Treasurer

    Position Title: Treasurer
    Reports to: Foundation Board
    Time Commitment: 6–8 hours/month (may vary during reporting periods)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
    • Record and track line-item donor contributions specifically for scholarships.
    • Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the board.
    • Work closely with the Foundation Chair, Scholarship Committee, and Grant Committee to align financial tracking with awards.
    • Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.

    Volunteer Profile: Scholarship Committee Member

    Position Title: Scholarship Committee Member
    Reports to: Scholarship Chair / Foundation Chair / Board
    Time Commitment: 4–6 hours/month (increases during scholarship season)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review scholarship applications fairly and confidentially.
    • Assist with reaching out to donors for updates, confirmations, and thank-you follow-ups.
    • Help coordinate the awards ceremony, including logistics and communications.
    • Track key scholarship deadlines, award disbursements, and reporting needs.
    • Collaborate with the Treasurer, Scholarship Chair, and Selection Committee to ensure integrity and accuracy.

    Position Title: Foundation Secretary

    Reports to: Foundation Chair / Board
    Time Commitment: 2–4 hours/month

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Take and distribute meeting minutes for board and committee meetings.
    • Maintain organized records of meeting agendas, minutes, and other official documents.
    • Assist in preparing and distributing board communications and reminders.
