We invite you to join us for the Burnsville High School Community Scholarship Award Night. We are happy to be able to share this night with all of you remotely during this unprecedented time. This year’s award recipients were notified in April that they were selected based on their Community Scholarship application. However, students were not told which scholarship they’re receiving. Tune in
This year 37 donors including ISD 191 employees, BHS sponsored youth activities, district PTOs, alumni, local youth organizations, church organizations, charitable foundations, civic service groups, businesses, individual endowments, and families memorializing a loved one have provided more than $120,000 to help 84 of our remarkable graduates as they begin the next phase of their educational journey.
Our student recipients have worked hard to achieve strong academic records, many of them excelling in Honors, College in the Schools and Advanced Placement classes. They have taken advantage of Post Secondary Enrollment Options, been part of Advancement Via Individual Determination or Upward Bound programs. They have spent many hours participating in and leading school and community sports and activities. They have volunteered in their churches, helped younger students and given time to local and state organizations that help those in need. And, many of them have also held jobs during their high school years.
